Fractured Fairy Tales

Fractured Fairy Tales

We spent two months reading and writing our own fractured fairy tales. First, we read the original fairy tale versions. Then, we read fractured versions which were funny. We learned the parts of a fairy tale like it has to have a good and bad character, start with "Once Upon a time", have a problem and some magic. It ends with... They Lived Happily Ever After. Here are some pictures of the cover pages of our fairy tales all bound and ready for reading! We had so much fun reading them to our classmates and kindergarteners.

Pentecost

Pentecost

This week we got ready for Pentecost on Sunday. We created doves to look like the Holy Spirit. We used a paper plate and wrote about the birthday of the church. We liked making the doves and adding the string to hang them up.

Nearpod app in action

Nearpod App for Math

This week for math rotations we used the Nearpod app. We were able to solve problems in division, multiplication, subtraction, addition, time and money by drawing our solutions. We then get to hit a button and share the way we solved problems with our class. It appears on the ipads of our friends! It is so much fun to see the different ways people solved the problems.

Division Flip Books

Division Flip Books

While we were doing division centers we created division flip books. We cut out four division word problems and then on the back we made the math problem to match and also drew a picture to show how we solved the problem. It took a lot of time but it was fun. -2LC foodies

Silkworms

Silkworms

We have been watching our silkworms in class. First, they were just little worms. Then, they made their cocoons and we waited for them to hatch. It was fun to have them in our classroom and see science come alive. -2LC foodies

Division with whiteboards

Division Fun with Whiteboards

We did some math problems with remainders and some without remainders. We did some easy ones and some hard ones. My favorite one is the easy ones. -Donut and Noodles

Learning to Write Chinese

Learning to Write in Chinese

We go to ask questions and ask what the words meant in Chinese. Bubblegum's grandma came in and we made book marks with pandas, dogs and birds and cats. We learned that they read up and down. They used to make books out of sticks. They read from the right to the left. - Noodles and Donut
